If Travel Broadens The Mind Then Students Need to Experience It.

We have some of the finest schools here in Australia and we should be very proud of the educational system that we have built. Many of our students will go to university to do a bachelor’s degree and others will go on to complete a master’s and even a doctorate as well. They will go on to get excellent jobs and enjoy salaries that will provide them with everything that they need to live a full and fruitful life. The only downside is that it’s likely that they will never leave this great country of ours and so they won’t get to experience some of the amazing things that are out there.
This is why we need to encourage students to travel when they are young because it does indeed broaden the mind and so everybody needs to get to experience travelling outside the country at least once. This is why educational institutions organise education tours so that students can get to see how other people live and they get to enjoy new cultures and new perspectives. The following are just some of the reasons why Australian students need to experience more travel during their informative years.
- It opens their minds – We do not want our students to be stifled when it comes to their thinking and so if they never leave Australia then they never get to learn about different ideas and different customers. It’s important that we challenge them and we encourage them to know and understand that things need to be challenged and they will only learn this when they understand different values, different perspectives and the many different traditions that other countries have.
- A better appreciation for life – Many of us take life very much for granted and young people in Australia especially so. Many young people nowadays have their faces buried in their smartphones and they only look up occasionally to see where they are going or to maybe have something to eat. They are missing out on so many things because they never leave the house and so encouraging these same students to go on some kind of educational tour can only provide them with a better appreciation for this life and the life that they have ahead of them.
Going on an educational trip will teach our young people to be more tolerant when it comes to dealing with different outlooks and perspectives. It is a very big world out there outside Australia and so Australian kids need to learn as much about it as possible.
